What a delightful weekend!
Had an awesome day on Friday followed by an equally awesome evening.
Drinks date with Dishy male specimen [insert mandatory blush here] at Melrose Arch wearing my wet skinny jeans as they were put in the wash (clean) that morning and I had no other option but to wear them slightly damp. I met up with Debjeroon at the Baron for a little and thereafter we headed to Manhandle it. Again.
I’m starting to wonder if I have some obscure sickness that I find myself constantly going back to the bloody place.
I honestly think it’s because no matter where I am on a Friday I know that, without a doubt, Manhattan will be awesome. There are always tons of peeps I know and an awesome playlist to keep me dancing the night away…And we all know how much I like to dance!
Had a bit of an awkwaat moment, one I would not like to elaborate on, but one I’m thankful dissipated before it got out of hand for me. Debjer was on top form (when isn’t she?).
Saturday I woke up with Glands the size of Golf balls so I vegetated the rest of the day, with the exception of a Freezo at Tasha’s with Vig and Boks, after which I rushed home to watch the SA vs. Lions match on my Pieter Dirk (i.e., Uys).
Brilliant game. Must admit that I got really nervous towards the end when the Lions showed some determination. Luckily we were able to hold them off. So keen for the rest of the series.
Sunday, being Father’s Day and all and all we when to Dinks' sister's restaurant for Brekkie with the fam. My Fajer is a gem – he wants us to send him for a facial and a pedi. Bless.
Sun Avy Bokkies and I hit the road to Preeee-toooor-eeee-a, Venga Boys in transit. I’m sure noone as ever heard Venga Boys’ ‘We like to party’ or ‘the Venga bus’ quite like how they would have heard it should they have been in the car with us. Truly epic.
I had forgotten what killer music those sick freaks made back in 1997. Definitely for the raver type back then. We were cutting shapes of all sorts in the car, Brazilian flag in the rear window and wearing our Brazilian colours. Bokkie even got completely into the spirit of the derby and gooi’ed some Italian supporter ‘the finger’ as they drove past us on the highway. Only Boks.
I don’t think the other peeps travelling the N1 knew what hit them. That out-of-hand.
Got waaaaaay too excited to see the ‘PS7’ sign (Ket had also hooked us up with VIP parking- Beeeeg Tick). Screamed “PS7!!!!!!!!!!!” soooooo loud that I have a feeling the crowd back at home in Jozi may have heard us.
Have to tell you that I’m thoroughly impressed by the way Fifa and all the volunteers involved run the show. Every single person we encountered was totally on the ball...excuse the pun. Big, big ups to everyone involved. Can’t wait for the World Cup!
Boks and I were ‘paparazzi-ed’ by the international press when we went down to the field level to take pics of the fan-atics. Ha ha. That reminds me to take a look at all the newspapers available today and see if we made the papers. Bwahahahaha.
Most of you are well aware that the Brazilians whipped the Italians 3-0. Delightful to be on the winning side yet again.
Now I’m trying to sell my soul in an attempt to get tickets to the Bafana Bafana vs. Brazil Semi on Thursday.
Should any of you have some innvovative ideas on how I could acquire tickets, please share.
