One Ocean

Late last year I was chatting to some mates and discussing the fact that I was dying to do the Two Oceans Half marathon aka ‘The One Ocean’.

Never mind I hadn’t really taken into consideration that I’d seriously have to get my ‘a in to g’ and start training.

Training has been going pretty well, even if I do say so myself. Except for this last Sunday.

I was supposed to go on a brunch date with a hunky (I think as I met him when I was partially sl Columbian (no, it’s not what you’re thinking as I’m not that way inclined) but was exhausted after a family 50th the night before so had to cancel.

Ended up sleeping ‘til 13h50 like the world’s greatest slob and realised that I’d promised my training partners that’d we’d run that afternoon. FML.

The heavens opened (as if they hadn’t for the last 6 straight weeks) and I found myself planning my excuse not to run. Realised “I had a bad prawn at lunch” excuse wasn’t going to cut it with these boys.

So off I went, feeling like it like a whole in my head. Grrr.

Needless to say I had a rather shoddy run and probably walked more than I ran.

This is going to be a long remaining 2 months, but by George I’m going to complete the 21kms. I have to; I have a rep to protect.
